138 Pictures

Here are a few pictures of our set from the show with Arvid Noe, Hyena, and Hello Shark at 138 a few weeks ago. It was a great night. Thanks so much to Friends + Family's new official photographer Scout, you can check out her stuff here. Hope to see you all at the Monkey House tonight...

Vradiazei (or shameless hyping of things I like)

"When the world is left in ruin our sound will echo in the empty streets."

So I just ordered Ash Borer's amazing 2011 lp from Pesanta Urfolk and now want everything the label has ever put out. Here's a track from acoustic black metal group Vradiazei who have the above quote on their blog and a killer new record out.

February Shows

We're gonna come back strong with two shows lined up this month. On the 17th we're playing with a whole slew of awesome bands from all over the northeast: Arvid Noe, Hyena, Comma, and our buddies/vicious band rivals HelloShark are playing too. It's a Friends + Family show and it's in a super special secret location so email friendsandfamilyvt@gmail.com for the details. On the 27th we're gonna be back at the Monkey House opening for Royal Baths. We have a brand new set and hope to see you all there.

O'Death- Lowtide

So we didn't play the Roadhouse gig on Saturday because Henry almost died of a flesheating stomach worm (don't worry, he's fine), but we're planning on playing 3/17 with Bostonian megatrio Arvid Noe, which is going to rule, because they rule. More details to come; for now here's an amazing video from O'Death, who swung through Burlington last week. Can't recall if they played this song, but the video is spooky skeletal dirtfection.

Grouper- I Saw A Ray

So we're still hard at work on new sounds but in the meantime you can still check in here to see posts on other artists and stuff we love. Here's a video for the Grouper track "I Saw A Ray" off last year's A|A from director Weston Currie. Super dark and awesome. I have a huge crush.

Basement babes: (we are) 1/(thirty)/8

Thanks to all who came out last night to the basement show on South Willard. The other bands killed it, and the crowd was unbeatable. Gloaming is going to take a wee little break from shows to work on some new stuff, but expect us back in full force come February. Black Metal Valentine's? Who knows.
