Basement babes: (we are) 1/(thirty)/8

Thanks to all who came out last night to the basement show on South Willard. The other bands killed it, and the crowd was unbeatable. Gloaming is going to take a wee little break from shows to work on some new stuff, but expect us back in full force come February. Black Metal Valentine's? Who knows.

Recording and Shows

Thanks to everybody who came out last night to see us at Buffalo Bill's Party Basement. We had a great time before the cops showed up. Hopefully we can get things fixed up to continue to have shows there. If you missed us last night or just want to see us again we're playing sunday night with our buddies Hello Shark.
check out the FB event Here for more info

In other news we were hard at work last week recording and hopefully there will be an official GLOAMING release sometime in the near future.

Movin' Picture: Gloaming at Billings 11/3

Becca just posted this extremely well-lit video of us in the hallowed caverns of Billings Hall at UVM for the Friends+Family show in November. We wore masks, the room was a circle, a nice night by and for the people, all.

Review: Monkey House 12/7

" Last night I saw my friends' band, Gloaming, play at the Monkey House. One of their songs felt like coming home to a dark house when you're drunk and sad. Another song felt like meeting someone and having a perfect 16 hours with them and then never seeing or hearing from them again and being really okay with that. Another song felt like the joy of remembering a sensation that you had forgotten about, like feeling warmth on your skin for the first time after a long winter or the the comforting smell of your Nana's perfume after not seeing her for months. I don't follow music the way a lot of my friends do, I'm not moved by music the way a lot of my friends are, but last night I felt like I got punched in the face with a fist full of peonies. Part of it, I think, is that they are very talented, and another part of it was watching people I know and love make something beautiful and unique and completely a product of their collective energies. It was them, in noise form. And it blew my mind open. "
